Shortspace is an on line "space" listing database with hundreds of business spaces that you can rent by the hour, day, or month now or in three months' time. There is simply no on-line real estate portal directed at this type of situation leasing with a payment gateway. The concept is similar to Airbnb, whereby unused space is monetised. We believe it has traction as it will be free list any type of commercial real estate such as vacant desks, shops, warehouses, galleries, studios and even outdoor areas such as farmers markets. We make our money when people book space, we derive extra revenue from featured listings and insurance policies, we will even provide on-line auctions for space. We believe the 'share economy' or 'collaborative consumption' is now mainstream. It is estimated that there are 1.7 billion mobile workers in the Western World and that 40% of all space is under-utilised.
